This is the least urgent version and the one with the most options. Nine times out of ten it is the battery, and often we can start it where it sits and save you a recovery altogether. Worth ringing before you assume the worst.
You are at the roadside and traffic is going past
Get everyone out of the car and behind a barrier or well onto the verge before you do anything else, including ringing us. Then tell us the road, the direction of travel and the nearest junction. On a motorway, call the police or use an orange phone first — the motorway operator has to attend before we are allowed to.
There has been an accident
People first, vehicle second. Once everybody is safe and the details are exchanged, we can recover the car and store it at our yard while the claim is sorted, which stops it sitting on a street collecting tickets.
